About Us

About Us

We have a combined 30 years of experience in education and over 40 years of clinical experience. We have taken great strides to maintain current skills, and science-based information to utilize in the classroom and clinic. During our teaching experiences, our favorite time is spent in small group, collaborative settings with a lot of personal interaction.

We have always enjoyed participating in professional development courses, whether we are leading a course, or attending one. Working clinically, we found it difficult to find personalized, small-group continuing education opportunities. Furthermore, we felt that there was a lack of collaborative, and critical thinking during these sessions. Online courses and large group lecture-type courses fulfill the requirements set forth for continuing education, however, we wanted to offer something different.

We want to help develop our clients both personally, and professionally. We feel that the best way we can accomplish this is through small, interactive, and fun sessions. We want to help our clients in troubleshooting and problem solving with both educational concepts, as well as clinical skills. Furthermore, we want to help our clients take information they learn in our courses and be able to immediately start incorporating it into their everyday practice. We want each team member in the dental office to feel valued, connected, and recognize ways in which they can support each other.

As a licensed dental hygienist for the past 30 years and a CPR instructor for the past 15, I have had a broad, diverse, and exciting career. It started with an Associate’s Degree in dental hygiene from the University of South Dakota, a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Northwestern University, and currently, continued coursework in a Master’s Degree in Business Organizational Leadership from Northwestern University. My path has included clinical hygiene in both small practices and large corporate offices in South Dakota and Minnesota, time in Arizona as an insurance and payment plan manager, as well as a Community Health worker on a medical relief ship in West Africa. I have worked in the educational area of dental hygiene as the Program Director for a small private university in the Twin Cities and most recently, as an OSHA/CPR trainer for private companies. I recently started working in the Dental Assisting Program at Hennepin Technical College, and love getting back into the classroom and labs.

I love teaching. And try to make every class as fun and enjoyable as possible. I guarantee you will always learn something new!

I most enjoy spending time with my family. My husband and I have 5 children, 2 monster dogs, 4 cats and a bird. We love traveling back to our home states of South Dakota and Wisconsin every chance we get. I also love to read, write, garden, camp and visit wineries and vineyards.

I am a licensed dental hygienist in the state of MN and have been working clinically since 2003. Many of these years have been in a Prosthodontist’s office in NE Minneapolis and has exposed me to a variety of patients that include, medically compromised, geriatric and special needs patients. I enjoy finding creative solutions to both typical and atypical dental issues.

In addition to working clinically, I taught dental hygiene at a small private university in the Twin Cities. I was an instructor in the labs, classroom and clinic. For part of that time I was the Clinical Director of the program and played an integral part in the formation and initial curriculum development.

Prior to entering the dental world, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art with a concentration in Art Metals from UW-Stout. I chose to pursue a career in the dental field because I enjoy working with my hands in detail oriented tasks, as well as always having a profound interest for science and biology.

I love traveling, making jewelry, painting, gardening, all while spending time with my family. My husband and I have 2 boys, and a (very spoiled) Cavapoo named “Tiki Pancakes”. We love going for walks and scooter rides around our neighborhood, as well as entertaining family and friends in our backyard. As a former bartender, I enjoy creating fun and tasty drinks for people to enjoy.
